When can I vote at strata meetings as a new owner?

You can vote as soon as your name is recorded on the strata roll — usually within 2–3 weeks of settlement. Your conveyancer should notify the strata manager of the change of ownership, but it's worth following up directly to make sure the roll is updated.

Until you're on the roll the previous owner technically still has voting rights — though they shouldn't exercise them. If a meeting is called soon after settlement, contact the strata manager immediately with your settlement statement to be added to the roll in time.
